Chris and Megan Get Married

April 7-12

Our roommate Chris lives half-time with us and half-time in Oahu with his girlfriend Megan. We've all played on the D'oh frisbee team over the years. Anyway, they had a lovely wedding on Sunset Beach and we were lucky to enjoy the rainless evening.






We stayed with Dean's relatives, Auntie Lori, Uncle Al, and David and Michael. They also have a love bird, rat, and aging dog named Lady. We had fun hanging out and playing Monopoly, Scrabble, and even Chess. They also took us to the Diamond Head crater park for an easy hike with nice views. Fun times.



Other highlights included the "Stairway to Heaven" hike. We read about it in Ian and Stella's guide book, so off we went through the big hold in the NO TRESPASSING fence, which has a great big hole cut through the side. Apparently, the hike has been closed since somebody was injured or died. It was easy to see how you could fall, given that half the hike is like climbing a ladder. A wet, slippery ladder hanging between a steep cliff ridge. It was quite freaky and not for those afraid of heights. We had no casualities, although I did manage to step on Dean's head twice. Oops!













The view at the first landing was nice, although it was short lived as some dark clouds started blowing rain upwards. The steps became very slippery and we headed back. After that we treated ourselves to a nice Hawaiian meal. yum!




Other culinary delights included shave ice and the great food at the wedding.



And no ultimate wedding is complete without a pre-wedding game on the beach.
