Dean turns 27
[August 28]
Dean's actually birthday was earlier in the week and we celebrated with a funny movie, The Aristocrats. It was a bit slow at times but also very funny. But that movie is not for everyone, so the real party was the following weekend at Golden Gardens. It was an unusually warm day, espeically since the weather report predicted showers all day long. In the distance, dark clouds started moving in, but didn't hit until the very end of the party. At that point, we were soaked within 30 seconds with Seattle's largest raindrops ever.

Taking shelter from the rain
As you can see, it was nice with some lovely clouds in the background. We reserved a picnic table, which seemed to be totally unnecessary since none of the reservations were listed.

Waiting for the barbeque and everyone else
We had a Costco run to get all the party supplies. This cheesecake did well with some candy lettering. I found out that it was also Jody's birthday (August's housemate) so we added him onto the cake too.

The Cake
Then Augie's friends thought that it would be funny to put the remainding candy letters in their mouth to dissolve while spelling out something. They demonstrate their talents below.

Catherine's Washington sweatshirt helped us score some borrowed forks from a guy's nearby table. "Anything for Huskies," he said.

However, we still didn't have enough forks to go around, so some people ate the cheesecake with carrot sticks. Dave and Laurie demonstrate.
